Direk Freddie Santos has been active in the Live Performance industry in the Philippines for more than 35 years, winning three times the coveted Live Entertainment Awards (ALIW) for Best Director in both Stage and Concerts, the only Filipino director to have done so. He began his professional career in advertising, became an established stage actor for 6 years and then shifted to directing where he has helmed and written more than 500 live productions totalling thousands of performances.

Behind the camera, he has directed a number of documentaries, musical videos and award-winning television shows. As a lyricist, several of his songs have sold gold and platinum records and his spoken voice has been featured in dozens of TV commercials, concept recordings and audiovisual presentations. Today, he still directs shows, hosts events, conducts workshops, gives lectures, collects art, stores music, studies gems, follows news, haunts Ebay, writes blogs, does hip-hop and goes bowling. It is highly unlikely he will ever marry.
